Not really. Bimini is a nautical term. It has never been an Automotive term. Bimini makes as much sense as Bikini does, except when you call it a bikini top, people actually know what the fuck you are talking about!

the term came from boats with small roof section above driver first popular on fishing boats at the bimini islands, again if we don't correct people they will continue to call it the wrong name

Snorkle is a marine term as well but we can call it a boob tube if people are more comfortable with that term

So what really is the best soft top? Cant remember what mine is but it's as tight as a nuns too, it broke a zipper from the strain .
My original was fantastic quality but very old and I got rid of it - cant remember what brand that was either.

Is Mu the way to go or bestop?

For BIKINI's  , windjammers and torneau's, MU is the way to go. For full tops you can't beat Bestop from lowrange.

Actually now that I think about it, Bikini is sort of a nautical term too, considering the bulk of them are worn at the beach

But I fear you are fighting a losing battle Kas. When the majority of aftermarket suppliers start calling the Bimini tops instead of the globally recognised Bikini top, then I shall do the same.

If you can hold off for a week or two I'll be patterning up and selling both solid and mesh, with and without zIps to fit fastback cover. Keep an eye out in the business section
