Hi all,

I have a 1998 Grand Vitara 4 cyl 2L and am looking for a 5 speed manual gearbox as mine has 3rd gear synchro issues.

Can anyone help with this please?

I am Brisbane northside.

Thanks,
Phil.

Hey Fatzook is there a difference from a 1.6 gearbox to a 2.0 gearbox?

The bellhousing is 50 or 60mm longer, so the input shaft probably is too.

Bummer that would of made it easier to find a box, you dont see that many 2.0 getting parted out unfortunately

Yeah, that's what i'm finding and what i often get told. They are very hard to find.

The car is still easily drivable and may keep going the way it is for years but then again......

If i leave it go too long it may get even harder to find a gearbox.

Hey Phil there was a guy on here that rolled his 2.0 vitara and then started to part it out
I've been trying to remember his user name but its not coming back to me :?
If you have no luck with them wreckers keep looking back through the for sale section, it was only a couple of months ago he was parting it out
