Faaaark..... You'd be doing well to find one of them outside a military collection.
Good luck. I'll keep an eye out.

The official name for them was a 218WFS, very few in Aus in the first place. It's the kind of scene I hang around when I'm not doing Suzy stuff, and I have only ever seen 1 in the past 20 years.
Does it need to be a Ford cab?, there's prob more GMC COE cabs about of that period.

I really do prefer the Fords, just for looks really. Check this baby... I want it, minus the sugar water reference.

I guess I am hoping to hear about one up near Katherine, or out in the middle of the opal fields or something...
As I said, it's a long shot, but it is free to ask!
I am also investigating importing a cab from the USA.

Unless you'd like something a bit more "Common" in Aust, like the Australian-market only Roadster Cab 1 ton Utes, like this one that's not for sale!!. You JUST MISSED A BUNCH OF THESE being auctioned off, in 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton and 1 ton versions.

There are a couple of really ugly trucks like that sitting in front of a shed on Stone Street at Stafford near the Hayward Street end, also some old ugly trucks in the backstreets of Amity Point on Stradbroke Island near the old timber mill, also some at the back of the industrial area on Bunya Road at Everton Hills they used to mill timber there, from memory there is a wrecked truck that looks similar on the left side of the road that leads into the Gantry area at Mt Mee, there is also an old Dodge "weapons carrier" behind some sheds at corner of Leitches Road and Gaskill Street Albany Creek. I have not paid too much attention to them in the past but I will try to get some pics.

It was on serviceton south road, out the front of a house, lots of other trucks there too. It was parked next to a mustard fj40 ... maybe it might show up on google street view
