looking for a set of 60% or more tread mud terrain tyres and rims 215/75/r15 that will fit straight onto a stock jimny. I live on the Sunshine coast so willing to drive a hour either side to collect.

hey mate, as far as i know there are only three types of MT's you can get in that size. BFG MT's, Hankook Dynapro MT's (what i have) and the other i cant remember.

just be aware that if you put them straight onto a Jimny with stock suspension you may get some bad scrubbing. and you may need a lift.

Thanks alot! Maybe i should try the 205 muddies if there is such a creation. Lift is in the books but not going to happen for a year or so unfortunately.

Go the 215s with a set of coil spacers. Cheaper than a spring lift and will give the bigger tyres some breathing space

If you're worried about legality you'll need to check regarding spacers. SOme people say they're illegal and some don't. Was just thinking spacers until you get spring lift. I run springs and spacers and have not had any mechanical issues with them. Mine is a total of about 100mm above stock plus the extra height that comes from the 235/75R15s. Looks tough but doesn't look like a huge lift so won't draw attention.

Great thanks for bringing spacers to my attention i had not previously thought of them as an option but they actually seem like they might save me alot of money in the meen time! And they would be cheap to get taken out if there were any legal issues anyway so thats good :)

yup, i put in my front spring spacers and it took around maybe half an hour... to do it all.

i'm seriously depending on putting the rear spacers in or not though....

:( but i paid $52 inc postage to my door step and this if for 30mm spacers... ;)

If you're going to combine the two you'll need longer brake lines

Didn't want to dirty up your other thread which i read earlier today. Where did you get your spring spacer from and what material are they made from?

Seems like a quicker way to get that little extra travel without forking out for the new gear.

Mitch.

Contact ODA1 for spring spacers. He has a range of sizes.

Will I need to replace the factory shocks with 40mm spring spacers?

If you'll only be using the 40mm spacer with stock springs the standard shocks will probably be OK.
