I am pretty sure I busted a CV at GH yesterday. I was already on the lookout for Heavy Duty CV's because I am going to install lockers.

So, Does anyone know of any sources for some good quality heavy duty CV joints for 08/09 Jimny?

I am also after some Urethane Panhard bushes, as I flogged out the front ones completely yesterday and ended up with only 30deg of steering. THAT was fun to drive home!

edit: I am told that I'd be better off just going a whole upgrade to Chrome Molly axle's and HD CV's!

I do have the rh guard and i have cv's but still in the hubs.. Didnt have a star socket for the hubs..

Did you need cv's only or axle shafts as well?

May be a pain to post.

I have an entire front diff assembly disc to disc which I can raid for a simple replacement, but I really want to upgrade the CV's and axles anyways.

Is there a place that upgrades jimny cv's?

Next option maybe 1.3 wt diff, Bigger axles/cv's stock. Then upgrade with cromo's.

Kas suggested that today.

What is the track difference between Jimny and WT?

Unsure. You may have to ask in tech.

Jimny's look wider than WT

Wayne I am pretty sure that the Jimny is 1355 and the WT is narrower at 1300, but this can be sorted out with wider wheels

Or would a set of wheel spacers suffice also?

Mitch.

I asked Tim today if he can check on HD axles and CV's.

Kas, I agree with the premise of going back to WT diffs and welding Jimny suspension brackets to it, but...

Sierras are now 15 years old and getting older, in the least. Jimny is still in production and can really only get more popular as time goes on. If I go the Sierra route, I have to outlay more money for diff assembly, fabrication of bracketing and reinforcing, spacers or rims, and possibly more.

I have this diff housing already reinforced, albeit that I have to refurbish it cos it leaks like a s sieve at the ball and weld. Peter is on the job.
