im not sure if a repair will be cost effective.
if someone has a stuffed one they are throwing away with a good zip, i might take and use the zip part of it.

If you can wait till early october, Maria from MU canvas will be back from the US.
She would probably charge $150 for new zip and window.

Maria is great, if she has vit tops now most likely she can help. yeah i can wait till then, im in no hurry.
Mine is an besttops brand and i hate it. it opens from the right to the left and you have to fully open the zip to open the back door. Its a PITA. Austops tops open from left to right which is much better as you dont have to full detach the zip to open the back door.

My vit soft top is genuine suzuki.
It opens from left to right, and I still have to unzip it completely before I can open the door, otherwise it pulls on the top and strains the zip.
If you want easy. Get a 2way zip installed (has 2 zippy things on the one zip assembly). That way you can zip both sides up individually and then fold the rear window flap back on the roof.

I went to get my 2000 Grand Vitara a new soft-top, suzuki quoted me $6000 for it... considering i bought the car for $6000 i didn't go that option... A quick drive down the road to a upholsterer (makes boat canopy's and car awnings etc) cost me about $300 and replaced all the windows with tinted ones and repaired the busted zip...

i dont really have time to search for someone that can do it now, then drop off the top then go pick it up agian...
My best 2 options are wait for Maria to get back as i know she will be able to help and if something pops up on here within that time thats great.

My fathers vit is a besttop, and opens from left to right, he used to unzip the window completely to open the tailgate, PITA, but he now undoes the metal rod that goes thru the bottom, and clips onto the tailgate, and then undoes the tailgate, no unzipping required.
4 push in clips, 1 sec each.
