I have a set of bfg muddies in 30.5x9.5x15. I am considering upsizing. The tyres are 80% worn, and on white sunnies 15x7's. I dont want to have to fork out a lot of money for new ones, so chasing a fairly high price for them. I am in Vic too, but open to offers.

thanks mate, but i think the postage from vic would be a killer. are u saying they have been worn down 80% or have 80% left over, good luck with the sale.

x2 why bother?

The BFG muddies for example in a 30.95 are 5mm wider and 25mm taller, hardly worth it.

Post subject:  Re: (perth)30x9.5x15 muddies

well 25mm under the diff is better than nothing, i cant really go 31"s atm as i dont have the money for a proper front suspension or a gv front diff and i cant really afford the risk of running 31 with std diff.

i got these muddies super cheap, and if i can find another set but larger for a cheap price then ill be happy.

Its only 12.5 under the diff, and 12.5 over... Barely a cm more clearance.

mine are 29" and a bit, so a 30" is 1" (exactly 55mm,2252mm rolling circumferece vs 2307 rolling circumferece) bigger or .5" (25mm) under the diff.

where did you get ur figures from?

From the BFG goodrich website.

A 30" tyre isn't necessarily exactly 30"...

The BFG is 750mm or 29.5 inches, according to them...

ok, fair enough. but i wouldnt really go for a km2 anyway. they are fare to expensive and i doubt anyone would be getting rid of a perfectly good set.

if i do get a new set, it will be the maxxis bighorns.

Yea, it was just an example.

The bighorns are 29.9" apparently...

They are worn 20%, have 80% left. Also have a spare in new new condition in same size.
If you could arrange freight happy to package up on a pallet for you.

Will they fit under a stock height Vitara Shandy?

My mate Domenic has a new Vitara with road tyres, cheap way to lift it up a little ;)

hey mate, sorry to say it, but 30's wont fit. but 235 will and will scrub depending on the rims used. if stock rims used they wont scrub at all, but i have -18 offset rims (stickout about 2") and the scrub a fair bit. (not anymore with new lift tho)

what tyres is he looking at getting?

http://kumhotyres.businesscatalyst.com/4x4kl71.htm

if i got 31s for $190/tyre i'd expect 30's to be around the same if not a touch cheaper... even at $190ea its only $760 for all 4 corners brand new.

i'd try "warrens tyre & brake" first.. he was the cheapest when i shopped for KM2s...

Good luck trying to buy Bighorns or even KM2s. Last week i ran about 20 shops and its the same answer....we won't have them for a few months....if the shipment arrives.

I was dead set on getting Bighorns but after reading a few posts im seriously considering the KL71
As Alien pointed out in his other posts...they are a very good tire for the price and apparently not much different from the KM2s...except much much cheaper

Alien....did you buy your KL71s from Warren's Tyres for $190 or somewhere else?! (you can send me a PM if its a top secret :P hehe)

I need 5 new tires and rims for the sierra plus i might get another 5 for the old man's hilux

hmmm ok well i might have to give a few peoples a call. it wouldnt be for a while anyway. new tires + 2nd yr apprenctice wage = long time.

i think i would go for something like the bridgestone muddies too, have seem them do some very cool things :D
