Have you got a particular type of barwork in mind? Any pics of ones you like?

front bars are very rare especially in SA.... the choices are arb or shitty alloy.

you'd have more luck finding a unicorn with a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow than a vitara rear bar. 8O

PM Fatzook....

yer have in mind what I want, I have decided that Im keepin my ute so the Vits gunna be a play car...
Looking at something like the xrox bar, or similar, pipe type construction to get that sort of ofroad race truck type look, if you understand what I mean, up front, the rears sort of the same, just two straight bars (pipe together) then I am just going to plate it up under neath, was looking at TSOR plating, but he only advertising for LWB... was planning on PMing you when I get back from the fishin trip to see if you could do some thing for the SWB....

Something along these type of lines, propably a cross of the two, no panelling like the botom one, but with the top hoop of the top one.

Yes sorry outdoor auto bash plates, but was looking at a tank gaurd from TSOR as well, sort of thinkin bout 4g when I get back should cover most of the things I want, or thats what Im budgeting anyway.
tank gaurd = bash plates 500
ome suspension lift + spaces 1200
new 225/75/15 maxxis at's + rims 1100
front rear bar stuff?
HD clutch and and locker (not air ) 500

i've got the outdoor auto bash plates & in hindsight i reckon they're not thick enough. if i was to do it again i'd grab the calmini bash plates.

Just out of curiousity, what thickness would you prefer?

same thickness or thicker than your fuel tank guards, anything thicker than a baking tray really.

My guards are only 3mm. Which is fine for the area they protect. I was thinking my belly guards would be 4mm. 8O

4mm would be ideal... with the right folds in them they should hold up 5mm will probably be to much. i think my ODA baking trays are only 3mm.

I am pricing up 6 & 8mm alluminium at the same time. The 8mm ally would weigh about the same as 3mm mild steel. Plus you can countersink the bolt heads. But its not as easy to fold, and it would be a fair bit dearer than 4mm mild steel.

Aluminium 8mm x 1000mm x1000mm = est 52kg
Steel 3mm x 1000mm x 1000mm = est 52kg
