Try giving the solenoid a few taps with a hammer.
When they get old they stick.
Otherwise there's plenty on ebay.

buy a mazda 121 starter from wreckers (no more that $30) it spins the wrong way and has incorrect snub nose. but the solenoid is identical. swap solenoid over and if you feel up to it pull the stator apart and swap the brushes over and you have a working starter (well one with a new solenoid and new brushes dont forget to clean it all at the same time. did this to mine the other week and works a dream. watch those ebay ones they dont all fit correctly. had to send one back to the seller as it was shit and didn't fit correctly i suspect he had sent me a swift/barina one instead. not a hard job though. or just call jas he will probs have some normally about $50

lil starter motors for our toys are only 2 pole, they do not wear out, as in slow down, use extra power to get them going, they just stop, cold.

They will work perfect up until the thing shits itself, no indication that anything is wrong.

Get a auto sparky to test it if you don't have a multimeter, (if you dont, get one and learn the basics, saves you shitloads of dollars) and take it from there.

200 is chiken shit when you think of breaking down somewhere all alone.

I saw a yota forum where the guy put a air barb on it, and when he went throught water/mud he would put positive presure through it to keep it clean. he might have run it off of his AC comp....
