I need a new 1.3 Sierra motor within say 250kms of Newcastle as mine have both seen better days.

Failing that any advice on freighting would be very useful. I can purchase a motor from Ozsteve on the sunshine coast but I have very little idea of how to get it back down here. My search didn't come up with anything too helpful, just a fair few bad experiences using e-go or hunter shipping.

Any advice you can give me will be well received.

i recently got a sierra engine shipped from Cairns to the Gold Coast. The engine was strapped to a small pallet and wrapped in a tarp. It cost 160 ish for freight. Pick up from his house and delivered to my local ego depot. There's a good saving if you can go depot to depot. The engine was estimated at 60 kgs so it required some one at the pick up end to help load it, but being delivered to a depot it was no problem as they had a forklift to unload. It was an additional $150 for a crane truck to go pick up the engine if the seller was unavailable to help load. I've used ego a dozen times both receiving and delivering, no problems as yet.

I've used them about 25 times now. No issues. But more and more people are telling me they have had a bad experience.

I would not recommend e-go. Pay the extra and go with a professional company such as TNT, or BlueSuzy Express.

I have always used transdirect when freighting stuff.

All i will might need is an empty tyre, no rim. makes transport easier as the sump will sit in it, then strap it down.
