hey guys am looking for holden 308 or 253 motor complete gas would be good but not worried and a turbo 400 auto box. for my build its going in a GQ chassis with an 89 vit body. would be good if in or close to melbourne

Are you on drugs?

If you must have a GM(H) V8, buy a VN-VP-VR and get the 304/TH700 with EFI.... They are so cheap.

i wish i was, there tuff and run upside down when on gas i also have 2 turbo manifolds and t28 hiflo turbos to suit in the future its a massive build up will start to post pics thisweekend ah

I spoke to the guy and he's just sold the gearbox. Reckon's he'd take $800 for the engine and gas set up.

the local wrecker would be best. if your going to run big boost stick the the 253, they have a lot thicker metal around the webbing and cylinders. the turbo 308 i built years ago started to crack around the mains and bottom of the cylinders.


but saying that i'd go the buick ( vn to vr) v6. made more power, than a 308 ever did and take boost very well. i have a mate in canberra thats making about 290 kw but about 680 nm toque ( doesn't rev very hard cause of the springs in it) on stock internals. is been going for 4 years as a daily now
