Problem with the cheap bow and arrow type of benders is the dies like to mangle the bend. You need to spend another few hundred on better quality Dawn dies, but its still cheaper then the JD options.

What sort of tube/pipe are you using when they have mangled the bend?

40NB CDS for cages and stuff, tends to wrinkle, crush the bends. The Dawn dies give alot nicer finish.

Strange, my mate has the same bender as mine, used 40nm with the shitty dies the bends turned out fine, used shitty thin wall pipe the bends turned to shit then.

When you go past a certain angle the tube will start to wrinkle
I just got a die that is a much tighter fit around the tube not like the dies you get with the bender
