5 hole is off a 1.6. I have drilled and tapped a 4 hole pulley to suit the 1.6 pulley before.

really :S I'm soo confused....
The whole A/C unit was from a factory 1.3 94 sierra with a 5 hole..
I'm putting it into my 1.3 82 sierra with 4 hole
could I just drill the pulley to suit the 4 hole timing gear??

Perhaps with extra load of the A/C the factory deemed an extra bolt neccessary?

In any case they should be interchangeable.

I have also come across this in an early 90s model swift..

From my investigation into it, there was no real reason as to why there were a 4 bolt and 5 bolt arrangement.
The motor we got was from the same year model had the same accessories on it (well in the car it was sold as only an engine with no alt ac pump etc and the crank pulley was missing also)l

from memory we swapped over the cam and crank gears as we were doing a timing belt anyway.
