Seat in my 1998 GV is shot, so I need another one to replace it.

As long as the foam is firm, I don't care of it's condition, whether it is ripped etc. Even passengers one will do, I can swap the foams over......

Even later model ones will be fine, they should fit.....Tried wreckers but no luck.

Would love to hear what others have adapted to fit in their GV's ?

This may be useful foe someone with the early GV 1998-...All GV's that I have driven, or seen at the wreckers have a worn or a collapsed drivers seat, on the RHS.

The passengers side seat bottom and rear are identical to the driver's side, so to swap them around...

SEAT BOTTOM

1. Disconnect seat belt buckle reminder harness
2. Remove seat 4 X 14mm (socket size) bolts.
3. Pull out the plastic storage bin
4. Remove 4 X Phillips screws (tin tray)
5. Remove 4 X 12mm bolts and remove the seat bottom from the frame.
6. Swap out with the one from passengers side.

SEAT BACK

1. Remove plastic side covers, one side has two phillips screws, other has one hidden under the handle. to remove the handle pull it up and with a flat tool release the locking tab, then slide it off.

2. There are 2 X 14MM bolts on each side, remove them and then remove the seat back from the frame.

3. Swap out and return everything back to the way it was.

NOTE.....There is a transverse tube that runs across the bottom of the seat back, this needs to engage in the pin on the side hinges and the little tab engages in the small cutout. to make it easier to see, unlock the two plastic strips that hold the upholstery on the bottom, then you can clearly see where it needs to go.

I swapped it out with parts from passengers side, hence the tech thread above, in case anyone else has the same problem with their driver's seat..
