Why?

Post subject:  Re: need engine numbers for a 1.3 1298 motor

Your motor has its own numbers on it, if not, they have been ground off, meaning, its been stolen, if you didnt grind them off, down to the recycle center with the block, sell the bits.

He"s not dodgey, Iv sold him a rebuilt motor that's still registered in my car as I can't change it. He needs numbers so I can re-stamp the block so it can be registered in his car, so if any body does have a blown motor sing out

Shouldn't off sold your engine untill you engineered your new motor

Yeah this is all really suspect. Re-stamping an engine block is a no-no.

Post subject:  Re: delete

i wonder if anybody knows the penalties for messing with engine numbers?

Author:  Scrawny [ Sat Jul 16, 2011 9:31 am ]
Post subject:  Re: delete

Perhaps the original request should have been for a block, rather than just the numbers. Still not the right way to go about it tho

Dunno. But there is no way to prove how you got the motor or why it has the same number as another motor so surely it would be some kind of motor fraud or even theft charge.... :?

realistically though it is your problem not the fella that bought the motor.
he should just register it with the popper number and if he cant then you should give him his cash back.
people who are prepared to do dodgy shit will always do dodgy shit and hopefully
anyone in the future that is thinking about buying something from you will read this.
