There a thousand and one ways to set it up but only a few work for what I want to do...
I'll use an example- The trolley tug runs a Baleno G16B with a trimatic, 6.5:1 transfer gears, 3.9:1 diffs and Q78 tyres. (35.5")
It pulls 4000rpm @ 100km/h, pulls a treat, and has sweet gearing on road and off, but on 31's it would be rubbish.
Greg's car runs a G13BB, Jimny auto, 4:1 transfer, and 5.12 diffs with 35's.
Both cars are very hard to split off road. On road, the G16 car has more punch than the G13 car, and it was a cheaper engine gearbox combo.
Greg could run smaller tyres, Michael can't.
Steve.
Sorry for the tech in the wanted section, but you have to know what you want.
