The only auto will bolt to a sierra 1.3 is a Jimny auto. These are A) Rare B) Expensive C) need a big cooler and correct gearing and D) are electronically shifted so need a TCC interfacing to an ECM to shift them.

It's not feasible to bolt one to a carby 1.3.

IMHO unless you have an EFI 1.3 or 1.6 (carby or EFI) you don't want an auto. It's not going to drive very well.

Time to swap in a carby 1.6/trimatic, EFI 1.6/trimatic, or a vitara EFI 1.6 and AW-4 (but be prepared for quite a lot of work for the AW-4 - they are long and huge.)

also be aware that tyre size and gearing becomes quite tricky with a trimatic in a sierra. They like tall diff gears and big tyres.

You have a thread here with a link to some of what you need to fit an auto to the 1.3

If you keep the carb motor it will be gutless.

There is a few threads about on auto's if you have some time to read. ;)

Yes I shall do a search and read what has been written....I will not be keeping the carb motor. As i said the reason I am asking alot of questions is to get the set up right cause as it stands I lost a lot of money (now I see) on the purchase of the current ride. What I though was a good deal ended up being a complete rip off.. So that is why I ask.... try $6000 for my junk, rust hidden, lift kit that was shit and body damage.. So hence the questions...If someone was to tell me a good set up that works I will get it done.. There a thousand and one ways to set it up but only a few work...

I'll use an example- The trolley tug runs a Baleno G16B with a trimatic, 6.5:1 transfer gears, 3.9:1 diffs and Q78 tyres. (35.5")

It pulls 4000rpm @ 100km/h, pulls a treat, and has sweet gearing on road and off, but on 31's it would be rubbish.

Greg's car runs a G13BB, Jimny auto, 4:1 transfer, and 5.12 diffs with 35's.

Both cars are very hard to split off road. On road, the G16 car has more punch than the G13 car, and it was a cheaper engine gearbox combo.

Greg could run smaller tyres, Michael can't.

Steve.

Sorry for the tech in the wanted section, but you have to know what you want.

I know what I want and that is why i am asking for the combos:
I want something that will crawl and will run fine using 35 to 37" tyres.
This combo below is more like what I will need.
The trolley tug runs a Baleno G16B with a trimatic, 6.5:1 transfer gears, 3.9:1 diffs and Q78 tyres. (35.5")

I am after a combo that works and i will find the parts I need and get someone to build it...
