hey guys

looking for someone to either install my locker or guide me and show me how.

Willing to compensate them for their time. Would prefer to do it myself and learn rather then fork out hundreds for a shop to do it for me.

Im in caboolture,QLD but am able to come to you as diff is out of the car.

is this going into the GV steel diff & are you swapping the ratio's to the vitara 5.12's?

as it's going to be over geared big time if you're planning running the GV ratio's.

Yeah mate. hoping that my R&P in my 5.12's are fine and I will put those into the GV diff.

How hard is it to remove the vaccum operated assembly out of the GV diff?

just like any other diff centre, i used a short bolt & loctite to seal up the hole in the bottom of the diff.

FYI, you might want to edit your post as setting up a diff from scratch is more in-depth than just fitting a locker to a diff.

Oh is it? shows how much I know. I figured if the diff was pulled apart. the R&p would be easy.

Can I recommend you just give it all to a diff shop? It may just end up saving you money in the end

Diff shop wants $600.
All shops are varying so much. None of them have even asked what car.
They have said while they are there they will do a centre bearing or something.
How can they give me a price of the bearing if they have no idea of what car?

I told one place that ill bring the centres down so all they have to do is change them.
Old mate said, that won't alter the price.
It's one of those things that I have no idea about but don't feel that price is right.
If anyone can tell me what they paid then ill feel better about the quotes...something doesn't seem right

Had my air locker installed by a Diff shop. $150. Supplied the centre only.
Quoted $550 if I wanted the diff fully rebuilt.

Yeah I have already spoken to oozuk. He is very busy with work and the last thing he wants to do on his time off is cashies.
I completely understand. I would be the same.

Atari- I paid $300 for the the complete assembly. Was that a good price?
The only place around here that had one :(

That includes puting in new pinion bearings and seals, tap hole, and setup the r&p
