Why are you needing a thermo? It probably won't do much if your cooling isnt already up to scratch.

So you reckon its not worth the upgrade? And the car has only overheated once since I got it replaced and that was because coolant hose came loose

I have a thermo fan on my sierra, worked a treat and never over heated "except" on a 25 minute hill climb in first gear doing 3000-5000rpm all the way. The zook got a about 3/4 hot on the climb (up from below half normal driving) but cooled down when a flat spot was found in about 3 or 4 minutes with the car at idle. (enough time to check out the smoke pouring out from the oil spraying on the exhust )
The thermo fan was about $80 and the temp sensor and adjustor (its adjustable to when you want it to turn on, 40 degrees to 110 iirc) its a craig davis one and was $50. You can have the whole lot for $70 with the brackets so it bolts to the radiator.
Cheers
Dave

everyone hates the thermos... i bought a supercheap 14" fan (biggest i could fit) and bolted it straight to the radiator bracket... 30 degree day, on sand, low range first gear revving at 4000-5000 rpm for about half an hour, and sat on a little over halfway for most of it. idle for about 5 minutes and was back to 1/4 on temp gauge.

IMO buy a quality fan though, dont do dodgy and cheap like me

BTW, i didnt do the upgrade to help cooling (my old fan was fine for that), i did it to be able to turn it off in water crossings after i snapped a blade on my old fan and put it through the radiator in deep water
