Gidday fellas, I am needing an old brake disc or brake drum with a 5 x 5.5 stud pattern to make a special tool to help pull the hubs out of an old jeep. Anyone have some dead bits they want to throw out? northen suburbs of perth preferably- but I dont mind trekking South if I have to Thanks, stephen. |

The old jeep hubs are pretty well stuck to the axles (tapered axle shaft with keyway that the hub is tightened on with 567595ft/lbs tension. I was going to belt the bejeezus out of the drums to loosen the hub while winding up the wheel puller. But..... I have been advised to be gentle to the relatively fragile and ancient jeep drums and pull directly on the wheelnuts- so I figured if I bolt on an old knackered suzuki disk or drum to the hub, using the wheelnuts- it gives me something to hook the wheel puller onto without wrecking the original drums. An old disc is probably the easiest option, but a drum would work too. Stephen. |
