Hey Zilla, havent found an extra one but just ordered a unit that suits a 93 swift hatch, looks the same, will let you know if it fits. May be easier to find than a sierra one. |

Good News!!!... well mostly. The combo switch unit from a 93 Swift hatch is very similar, it uses the same stalks, same housing, and same PCB. However, the swift one has a different set of plugs, no intermittent (a seperate PCB is added onto the back of the sierra unit) and possibly some different wiring/pin outputs. In my case I was just looking to replace a broken wipe stalk, so I took apart both of the units removed the stalk assembly from the swift (adding a missing contact [swift had one contact, sierra has two]) then put it into the sierra unit. Job done! If anyone wants pictures I can upload them to show the differences between the two units. One word of caution if you pull apart one of these combo switches, MAKE SURE THE HAZARD SWITCH DOES NOT MOVE! It has a stupid little spring that sits underneath it, that when let free is an absolute PITA to get back in. |

Grave dig, but I can confirm that a 95 gti swift combo switch will also work. I have a gti sitting around so I did a similar thing with mine. My original switch had all the mechanism for the cancelling of the indicators missing, the horn contact was worn to nothing, and the hazard light switch was sticking on. Chopped the horn contact from the swift harness and soldered into sierra harness, and clipped the whole sierra circuit board into the swift unit, and swapped hazard light buttons so it fits the sierra steering column trim. Also used the swift steering wheel, as the contact ring on the back was heavily worn and someone bent the coily horn pad up trying to remove it before taking out the screw i guess. |
