Hi all,

looking for a vitara transfer to case that would be suitable for a full rebuild. ill be installing some reduction gears soon and would be easier to have a case that i can install them into, so a straight swap in to the car can be done.

need's to be after 92 and before 97 i believe, but let me know what you have. LWB or SWB doesnt matter. as long as the case has everything internally and is still in semi working condition thats fine.

Im in Perth, but if its cheap ill pay for postage.

thanks Mitch

Damn, was going to say I'll take your current one for the same purpose, but freight from Perth would kill the advantage.

The rate things are going at LROR we could do the exchange in Katherine next year!

Mitch one thing to keep in mind is the later model vitaras have a different yoke spline for the rear tailshaft so unless you want to change the tailshaft as well you want a transfer from a 96 to 98 1.6 vitara

I e-mailed them on June 17. I'm paying a chunk using gift cards, so not a formal order yet.

well mine has a build date of 95, and the internal castings change after 92. the gears dont actually fit in pre 92 (not something that can be machined out either)

Shep, i dont think it will mater if its auto or manual. ill double check with LROR about the build years. and let you know

cheers

need some advice;
option 1: buy used case for $100 and then chuck in rebuild kit with the gears or.
option 2: Buy a rebuilt case with new bearings for $400 then chuck the gears in.

not sure how much a rebuild kit is tho, that kind of makes the deal worthy or not. going off LROR's web site, they have 2 kits - one is (master) $290 and the other is $180. so i can get the master kit which has everything and still be infront over the $400 case (work already done at suzistore)

might give suzistore another call and ask exactly what was done in the rebuild. there is lots of stuff listed in the master kit.

master- http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/index.ph ... d-kit.html
standard- http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/index.ph ... d-kit.html

opinions please :)
thanks. oh still no word on when the gears are coming  been almost a month since payment.

No word for me yet either.

FWIW I'm ordering a full rebuild kit so I know it's good for a while.
