Mate i just bought a 2000 model Baleno with 130k for $1050 with 6 months rego, mags etc Had a slight front end collison.
I missed out on one the day before with 170k for $800 with hail damage. So they are out there, just Gumtree it every day. Just so you know there isnt much on the Baleno's worth selling so dont pay 2k and try and make some money back, they just arent that popular.
When you do find one dont mess around, they sell quick as there are quite a few people looking to buy them for the engine.
Good luck

yeah I check gumtree a couple of times each day but nothing seems to be coming up. At the moment I may be able to get a coilpack baleno enigne with loom, ecu, cluster and with 138,000kms for $1500 delivered to perth? Does that seem too much to spend on a g16b?

Like i said mate i got the whole car for $1050 and once i cash the rego in that's $850..
But then again $1500 to your door isnt terrible for the lot.

There's a G16b Baleno at the wreckers in Manjimup (an hour north of me), it had about 250'000 on the clock. It's a complete car, no damage so I'm assuming it's got something wrong mechanically, probably just the usual dead gearbox. The wreckers wouldn't know as they've just bought the place.
I can get details if you like?
