viewtopic.php?f=15&t=13126 SIERRA EXTENDED SHACKLES $259.00 FREE POST Jake, shackles aren't really the best solution to fixing a tyre rub problem, if you could post all the info about your sierra + picture of your sierra & the area's that hit + what you're trying to achieve then people will be able to offer sound advice. We need info to be able to help you & you're not helping yourself by no telling the whole story... it's like a blind man looking into a mirror & trying to see what colour eyes he has. Usually you'd would have been flamed by now... But I'm trying to change my ways, there's this passage I got memorised. Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee." I been saying that shit for years. And if you heard it, that meant your ass. I never gave much thought to what it meant. I just thought it was some cold-blooded shit to say to a motherfucker before I popped a cap in his ass. But I saw some shit this morning made me think twice. See, now I'm thinking, maybe it means you're the evil man, and I'm the righteous man, and Mr. 9 millimetre here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or it could mean you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But that shit ain't the truth. The truth is, you're the weak, and I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm trying, Jake. I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd. |

You know a 4" lift shackle (assuming 90 degree shackle angle) would be 27cm long? That's more than twice as long as the TSOR shackles are and almost 4 times longer than stock. |

You fuct your sums up a little A 2" extended shackle netts approx. 1" of lift. So a 4" LIFT shackle would need to be around 8" extended, making is 4 times more extension than a TSOR shackle offers |

I was talking about the overall length of the shackle, hence more than twice as long as yours (which I'm assuming are 12cm) and almost 4 times longer than standard (7cm). |

Put a 25mm spacer on the front bumpstop. Hammer your guards smooth. Bolt the 31's on. Done. |

Jake terry wrote: Is there any major mods needed for a ruf Oh for f*cks sake Jake, Quote: Dos anyone have shackles or not that's all I want WHAT F*CKING SHACKLES DO YOU WANT Stock shackles are 3" long centre to centre. do you want shackles 4" long centre to centre, which will offer about 1/2" of lift? do you want shackles 4" longer than stock, which will be 7" long centre to centre? do you want shackles that offer 4" of lift, which will be 11" long centre to centre? do you want a RUF? It's pretty clear you have no idea what you want to do, or what you want. You have been told how to fit 31's numerous times It's easy to do and it's been done hundreds of times before. None of this information has ever mentioned longer shackles, because they do nothing to help you fit bigger tyres. There is MASSES of information on RUF on here. Here is a little bit, pulled straight from the good tech section. viewtopic.php?f=17&t=18955 Ruf is a complex fabrication job though, and not necessary for fitting 31's. In some ways, it makes it harder. If you want to continue tech discussion about fitting 31's, get it off this page as this is the "wanted" section, it's not for tech. Start a member's rigs thread, or ask some questions in the noob section of suzuki talk, but please, do some reading first, stop listening to your "mechanic" mate, and stop dribbling nonsense about your setup/plans. We're all trying to be polite and not flame you, but FFS, you're making life really hard for yourself. Steve. |
