With the possible exception of an AW-4 auto/G16 conversion The auto vitara loom is a fair nightmare. I've one plenty of EFI swaps, but with the AW-4 loom there isn't really a separation between the body loom and the engine loom. This adds a fair bit to the difficulty, to the extent that with my early 1.0 car, I felt it was eaiser to swap the whole loom, instruments and steering column rather than split the loom up.
Still needed shortening, but thats easy.
If you're planning on a trimatic or manual, (with a manual loom) then it's pretty easy to DIY.
