trying to put together a swift GTI engine to put in a sierra but i need the gearbox shim that goes between the gearbox and engine

It is called a sandwich plate.

The block to gearbox interface needs no adjustment.
The sandwich plate is there to accurately locate the starter motor. Called a sandwich plate because it is sandwiched between the block and the bellhousing.
