I don't understand having cheap tools in your car. Bust a cheap spanner at home and it's no big deal. Bust a cheap spanner on the trail and you're stuffed.
Steve.
i agree completely for my car i have a very complete tool roll for trips filled with quality tools (even take vac gauge, multimeter and portable timng light etc), i keep a second crappy tool roll for daily local stuff like going to work as i my car doesn't lock.
as for the ring spanners they are extras to make certain jobs easier so if they are in the right size i would take a nameless china\taiwan\india option untl i can replace it with a better 2nd hand one when it comes along. At garage sales i usually pay 50c to a $1 per brand name spanner for sidchrome, gedore, toledo etc but so far all the ring spanners i have come across are imperial .
while we are being chatty about it i have to say i'm ussually impressed with çheap spanners/wrenches made in india ' they tend to forgo the shiny look and a bit more rugged than the china equivalents.
