Hi All,

Any RC people on here use nitro. Getting myself a heli and want to find a reasonably priced place to purchase 100% pure nitro to mix my own fuel.

Brisbane area or ability to post to QLD, let me know who you guys buy it from

Cheers

Rusho

Head down to your local RC club.
There is almost always someone there who you can buy premix fuel from cheap, or point you in the direction of suppliers to mix your own.

Or just go electric :)

If its your first one just buy the smallest quantity of fuel you can as you 100% will finish the first flight in bits

Not my first flight as such shep. I'll be right. I want to mix my own because I have access to really cheap methanol and oil

Methanol and oil is the cheap bit, the nitro is pricey.

VP race fuels will sell it but it won't be cost effective

The best I've found so far is $75 for 5ltrs

20 methanol for $45 and oil $60-$70 5 ltrs

Methanol doesn't keep that well. It seems to absorb moisture and loses its "zing". Unless you plan on doing a lot of flying you will be better off buying small batches of premixed fuel.

A bloke at work knows some drag racers. Free methanol and $10/ltr for nitro!!!! WINNING 8) Methanol will keep if I store it in a dry place on a rubber matt though won't it??

that's probably worthwhile doing it with free fuel and cheap nitro. I have never had much luck storing it once the drum has been opened. Just doesn't seem to run right in the engines after a while.

We sell the fuel at work so I'm guessing we can get it unmixed.
We r the nsw dealer for power plus race fuel. It's made in melbourn.
Call my boss Martin on 0400569304 and ask him if u want
