Well my holidays to the sunny coast started off well. Mounted my new tyres to the XL7 rims and a wheel alignment sorted. Heading up to DFO for the better half only to hear a hissing noise and water dripping into the passenger footwell. Got to the next round-a-bout only for the car to stop (no stall) and would not restart. Would turn over, but not start.
Push the car to the side of the road and stick my head in the footwell to smell burned electrics. Remove the ECU and open it up to see some corrosion and melted/burned parts with corrosion on the board. Turns out when making a right hand turn, the water collected by the air-conditioner pee'd itself onto my ECU. Even managed to empty some water from the ECU.....
So my long-winded question is.....does anyone have a spare ECu lying rand for this model 2.5L V6 GV?? Not overly urgent, as we are now at maroochydore with the sp23, but will need it soonish??
If there is no luck here, how much would be a reasonable price from the wreckers??
HELP!

...would anyone happen to have a schematic diagram for this ECU?? I have a mate that may be able to fix it for me, but he needs a schematic. Turns out awn (Australian warranty network) don't want to cover the ECU BECAUSE it was damaged by the air-conditioner (consequential damage). They used the reasoning that they would not covers a radiator if it was damaged by a rock = consequential damage!
But I will be fighting this because in my opinion it was the CAR that damaged the CAR, not an outside influence such as a rock!!

Absolutely. If the motor throws a rod and puts a big hole in the panel work, do they just leave a gaping hole and say "tough luck"?

Only person I know of that might be able to help with a schematic would be rhinoman. Apart from that its up towho ever enjoys spending their time reverse engineering the thing

Well it appears that no one here has anything suitable (although thankyou to everyone that has responded with assistance), so I will now ask if anyone knows of a GOOD Suzuki wreckers. This might mean that they are either good price (reasonable for a wreckers), offer good service (and therefore would deserve more business), or have a large inventory of Suzuki related parts...
I will start my ring-around tomorrow (Monday) so any good leads I can get by then will be truly beneficial!

I've only ever seen one of these ECUs that didn't have a rusty case and most have been damaged beyond repair from water ingress, they have a tendency to self-destruct and there are a number of custom chips in them. Have you got a Suzuki immo fitted? if so then you will need to get an ECU, immo and key set, get it all matched together or get an ECU and immo and match the keys If the processor is OK then you could rob parts from a different ECU, the code is burnt into the processor so you can't really swap that.

Well, I got the car back today from Suzuki. They had to reprogram the NEW ECU to match the vehicle/immo/keys - or something along those lines...
Both warranty and insurance did not want to come to the party and in the end I just got over not having the vehicle on the road and bought the ECU outright (well...credit card...). They certainly don't miss you with the price, although I did find an avenue to save quite a bit on the NEW quoted prices locally...but all in all, happy to have it back on the road - now to make up some form of water-proof shroud for my shiny new GV wonder-box!! Any ideas??

The old Vitaras used to have a plastic cover over the ECU, it shouldn't be too hard to make up some kind of splash shield.
