Chasing an exhaust manifold from a Swift GTI 13b engine. Anyone done a conversion into a Sierra and fitted extractors?

Not sure if it will fit the project that I am working on - but worth a try..

Thanks in advance

Cheers
Jeff.

I have a gti as my daily driver and should point out the stock manifold is crap. You should get 4-2-1 extractors made to suit a sierra conversion. They are available and should not cost too much but not too many people stock them. Try http://www.suzisport.com/contact.asp or maybe put a post on http://www.redlinegti.com/ to get it from someones stash. The engine is a g13b in gti's, mk1-mk3 should have the same exhaust ports but might have different bends for a fwd, not relevant for a sierra but there could be different designs.

Hi Saczel,

Thanks for the information and feedback. I'm working on something a little different - putting the GTI engine into a Austin Healey Bug Eye Sprite....... The reason that I am looking on this board is that I have heard that the GTI into a Sierra is a popular conversion. Really just looking for the GTI manifold to see if it fits and then maybe use it for a template for someone to make an exhaust to fit.

So if someone has one laying around in SE Queensland I am interested.

Thanks
Jeff.

Some people make up batches of the plates to fit itb's onto and i think i recall someone making the exhaust plates as well to make up extractors. The redlinegti.com site would be my first call to ask advice from, just about everything has been done there at one time or another and plenty of good advice for projects like yours. Give them a try and i am sure someone would have a stock exhaust manifold lying around. Anything to do with gti's or their motors gets them horny.
Cheers
