I'm chasing a 2003 Suzuki Grand Vitara ecu for a manual 2.5 v6.
Happy to pay for postage from anywhere.
Possibly a ecu from a 2001 to early 2003 manual GV might match too if the plugs are the same.
I'm located on the Sunshine coast, QLD.
Any help with tracking one down would be much appreciated.
Regards, Joel

Can I ask what happened to the ECU? I only ask because I have a GV and the ECU (or at least it's location) is one of my major concerns.

I relocated mine to up above the glove box. Normally they sit on the plastic tray under the glove box so wasn't hard to lift it above.

I haven't had a good look yet. I think I'll be doing the same before heading to the cape.

Its not mine, its for a mate. But apparently got wet from the air conditioning? So now the ecu has lost control of the fuel delivery side of things, so wont start.
Its hard to track a ecu down. We found a 2003 model but had a plastic looking ecu instead of the metal case one that we need, and the plugs were wrong.

Can you give me the numbers of the label on it - I have a few here but they are from the 1998 GV V6 2.5 lt. manual.

Ill try post some pics tonight of the plug bit. Im willing to try any of the gv ecu as long as the plugs fit.
I did find out the apparently they linked in a engine immobilser with the gv ecu from 2001 on, so im not sure if a 98 will work. But i also read that on nbs forum that someone with the same problem as us got told the same thing by suzuki, but tried a ecu that fit and didnt have the same numbers and it worked.
Cross fingers. Ill post up tonight.

I think I have a spare one lying around here as well. I'll try to track it down and compare it to the one you post.

The top number is the same and the third line is the same the rest are different so I do not know if it will work - Maybe Rinoman can tell you as he knows all there is to know about these things.
Mine read -
33920-67D8 067D8 2.5 E24 MT JC1 F1-232 C2 8530
If it is the incorrect one you could do damage to it. I have 3 and all have been run in my car with no problems.

My ECU that I fried also (same way) is very similar numbering, but it will of no use to you. I purchased another one (from a different model) thinking the fried parts might be replaceable, but to no avail. The 'working' one that I have has the following numbers:
33920-67D8 1 067D8 2.5 E24 MT CI FI-232A A1 9621
Very likely won't help you.
I ended up having to go a brand new ECU. I notice that you too live in Queensland. If you go down this route (when I checked) a new ECU alone was around $2300, but I found that if purchased from Grafton and south that it was around $500 cheaper. You do then have to get it programmed for your vehicle, but this was only $110 at my local Suzuki dealership.
Hope this helps, although probably not in the way that you wanted. All the best with the search.

Yeah it did clear up a few questions, thanks.
I'm definitely searching for a exact number match now. I did know about the reprogramming.
Luckily my mate has another car, so not in too much of a rush.
I have a few shops keeping an eye out for a second hand one, fingers crossed. Thanks heaps for the info and having a look. I will just keep coming back on here to, hopefully one turns up.

I know this sounds stupid but you have tried Ebay? I found them very quickly there and the online wreckers search yielded heaps of replies and offers. Also Rinoman does refurbished ones when he has them.

Who would I get to see if they can repair it?
There looks to be heaps of repair guys in the states and uk, but nothing here to I can find.

Nothing in Australia I can find but send it to Rinoman - It does not take much longer than post interstate here.
Go to his website and ask him.

I assume after seven years the OP resolved this problem one way or another.
