Vehicle: lj50 soft top76

hi all if anyone has the part numbers for the lj50 crank parts and an exploded view pic i am extremely interested in tracking down new parts as i have come across a way to source them out off japan possibly with the part numbers. if not i will pic up the conversations on hopefully a good second hand one that could be rebuilt. i have all new bearings top and bottom and crank seals but would like also to replace the rods and rear pin crank section

more of these pages if someone has a parts manual would be great

I have both the early and late LJ50 Parts Manuals, as well as the LJ80 and 80-II. Also have the JDM manuals for the SJ10 and SJ30 2 strokes.

The complete LJ50 main bearing sets have been unavailable for a few years. 2 of them are still available, but not all 4. I've checked for years through Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Dubai. All gone. As the dimensions of the bearings are standard sizes, it is possible for a machinist to modify standard bearings by machining, milling and drilling them to be suitable, but the hourly rate would leave you with $250 bearings.

The SJ30 crank was redesigned with forged and lightened components with bigger/wider bearings and so is good for 7000rpm. All parts/bearings/seals for the SJ30 style crank are still available new, and complete cranks are common 2nd hand from Japan. The SJ30 complete crank will drop straight into an older LJ50 crankcase. SJ30 bearings do not fit the older LJ50 crank.

Pics of an SJ30 crank.

Lighter, stronger components, balanced to 7000rpm. Bigger "Big End" bearings, wider Main bearings, but still fit early crankcases. Front snout is the late LJ50 style, so must be used with late timing pulley and fan spacer, but can also use a JA11 viscous fan.

All parts still avail thru Suzuki, or various resellers.

What did that cost you?

Post subject:  Re: lj50

I bought 3 new conrods as well to do up my original crank as I have a complete set of seals and bearings to fully rebuild it I might sell those parts off, the new crank set me back around $700 it has bigger conrod big end bearings than the original freight and GST was up there though I think total cost was $1350 including the new rods and it only took 8 days from Indonesia to my door
