Hi All, A long shot - but does anyone have a bellhousing that would bolt up to my A340 toyota box (same as AW4 and 03-72 in Pajero) to fit a G series engine? I have a whiney 5spd in my G13B swapped SJ51 LWB and also an A340 lying around, so trying to kill two birds with one stone. I've heard that the bellhousing for the vitaras could work? Regards, Tones. |

Yes, the G16B vitara uses an AW-4. You'll also need the flex plate, flex plate spacers, bolts and converter, along with a "lucky 13" adapter which adapts the G16 bell housing pattern to suit the G13 engine. You'll also ideally want the vitara rear housing and output shaft, which has the same spline as the Sierra jackshaft. |

Thanks very much Steve, some food for thought there. Might just be easier to rebuild the 5spd or buy a whole G16B Vitara to swap the bits over and scrap the rest. Are the G16B Vitaras hydraulic or electronic AW-4s? |

They're electronic and use a separate TCC. Inputs are throttle position and coolant temperature. The can be run without the TCC using the lever to select PRN and then switches for forward gears once the shifter is in the D position. |
