hey, ive got a noise in the zook its only there after bout 50-60 and goes away when u take ya foot off the pedal, ive put transfer in to N and put it though the gears and it not there. cant be the diff Ive had 2 differ diff in it. could it be the transfer case and Wat do i do to fix it. don't know if this will help but it only start doing it when i cam back from lcmp at Easter half way home. wat u guys reckon?????

is it a high pitch whining noise that gets louder the faster you go ?

dead on man and it goes away when i slow down under 50-60 or just take ya foot off, u just touch the pedal down and it there again.

X2 we need to know the noise to tell you how to find it...
Is it a low noise , high pitch, does it change with the revs or road speed? Is the noise louder or same if you drive it in 4wd high at speeds?
Have you had weight in the car, Is it louder then?
Is there any vibration that comes with the noise? If so is it in the steering wheel or more in the back of the car?
Have you checked the axils? looked and felt your Uni's?
What mods do you have?

transfer case needs rebuilding, the layshaft has started to lose its case hardening, The noise is of the bearings wearing there way into the shaft

oh fuk is that bad ? i do have a spare one but not sure wats gearing it is i got it out of the buggy that cum with the car.

umm it started when i had a spoa in it still does it now back to standed with 2'' shacks um bigest load ive had in it is a fridge and to louch chairs. its just there gets a lil lounder but im just used to it lol

see if it looks the same, check the bolt pattern on the flanges on your other one.
Not too bad just replace lay shaft and all bearings and good as new

how much would u charge to fix that?? mine is having the same problem its hell annoying when i hop inot the jimny i realize just how noisey it is.
but im thinkin about going to the 1ltr transfer case if anyone out there has one on offer. and what mods ned to be done to make it fit?

And while you've got the case apart, might as well put some 6.5 gears in there....
