G'day Guys

Finally got around to getting my coily. Will have the pics up soon. Just one question how much should i expect to pay to get the crankseal replaced. It is dropping a bit of oil, and I have a replacement seal, and it all that is required to get the roadworthy completed, and registration transferred over.

i would replace both and on a car you dont know replace the timing belt, hopefully then you wont need to go back in there again

crank I am fairly certain, a few people have informed me that this can be quite labour intensive and fiddley.

its a fairly easy if it a front crank seal..

not labour intesive at all

the only labour intensive one i could think of would be a rear main seal.

i agree with royce i would be doing a timing belt kit. they arent that expensive. and if oil is leaking then there is a chance that it has gotten onto the belt.

I agree once you know your way around the timing marks it should take less then an hour to do the job.

Yeah fairly certain it is the rear seal, already have the replacement, any clue to the time it would take to replace or cost?

So are you talking about the rear main seal, or the front crank seal?
If its the rear main, its possible to do in a few hours if nothing goes wrong, its a pretty easy job.
The front crank seal is actually about the same time too. Neither jobs are hard.
Another thing to note, it is very unlikely, but it could be the input shaft seal leaking in youre gearbox. You can tell basically by the colour and smell of the oil.
