bottom bolt on rear shock - jimny

on the weekend the bottom bolt on a rear shock came loose and went and lost itself.

anyways today i took the other one off and tried to find a match but with no luck.

i went to the suzuki wreckers in cannington and they said they went out the back and took a bolt off a jimny and gave it to me for free.

in the picture the top bolt is the one i took off my jimny and the bottom bolt was from the wreckers.

it is a bit shorter but the thread is the same.

do you think i can still use it???

mine broke when i put the lift in, i just drilled it out and then kept drilling all the way through and then welded a nut onto the end of a bit of all thread then put another nut on the other side. works perfeclty.

will be fine, the longer one has a 'lead-in' to make the assembly process easier.

Yep - one of mine came off a while back and I have that exact other bolt in my rear RHS. Been in there a few months now with no dramas.

i don't even drive with shocks at the moment...

Mine came off about 2 months ago in the Wattagans, Couldn't tell the difference other than the banging on the highway, it didn't seem to effect the handling much at all, shock relocation brackets are probably the best solution for these though as they alter the lower mount orientation by 90degrees to allow for forward back movement as well as side movement under articulation. i used the bolt and it is goin good.

but i think i might invest in some of those relocation brackets from .ODA1

With just one shock bolt missing in the Jimny, it makes for an awfully bumpy ride.
