High oil pressure can be just as terminal as low oil pressure. If you obstruct an oil passage it can cause the pressure to rise as the flow is reduced. Low oil flow is bad news. Is the oil pressure you are looking at with the oil at normal opperating temp, or cold. Cold oil by its nature is thicker and holds higher pressure. Oil pressure readings should be given with the oil up to normal temp. Different viscosity oils will provide different pressures at idle.
