the boys in blue have never hassled me about my vit with a 2in suspension lift 2in body lift, 30in ATs no mudflaps custom front bar that only goes down to about 2in into the height of the tyres, and ive been brethoed waved straight through checking stations, booked for not wearing my seatbelt (my bad, had no centre console then either) and is daily driven in the CBD also

I am going to try fit it this sat, im just sorting out what i need to have ready so i can do it all that day and (hopefully) have no problems.

Theres only a few things im not sure about is the Brake lines.. since i already have a 2" suspension lift should i get some longer ones made up? (also only front ones? left/right?)
I know i can punch a hole in the front left wheel well 2 inches lower then the old one.. but im still not sure if i want to or if i do if ill need longer ones anywhere anyways.

Also, am i going to have to bend my transfer lever?
people seem to have bent theres but id rather not bend or cut into the floor if i dont have to :S

edit: forgot to add, do i need to use any sort of glue or something when putting in the blocks? read about people glueing them in, if so what type?

YOu only need to glue the two smaller ones in, Sikaflex is the go.

With the front brake lines you can rotate the fittings coming through the guards so that they point down rather then forward, this will give extra effective length. Any trimming of the body for the levers is very minor and covered by trim, give it a quick spray of paint and it's fine. Some dont even need to be trimmed.

my mate got has zuk defected coz he has 2inch suspension 2inch body lift with 30 and got defected since he doesnt have an engineering cert so now thats costing a good couple of grand

That sucks, it's definately worth doing it the right way first up and getting it engineered .

I've emailed a few of the engineers listed on the RTA website asking about a 2"body lift with a 2" suspension lift and have included a photo of the JC kit so that there are no mistakes about what is being used in the bodylift. When I get a reply I will let you know what they say.

Don't wait on e-mails - I never got replies. Ring John at ConsulMotive - he's one of the RTA engineers. Had a good chat with him, basically said go ahead and do it (2" susp + 2" BL +31s) as long as the gear is good quality (solid ally or poly blocks, HT hardware etc) get your speedo calibrated then come see me.

Got my BL finished yesterday - no dramas with brake lines, although I haven't done a full droop test yet. Make sure you loosen off both ends of the fuel filler hose (as per instructions) and I'd recommend removing the gear lever housing and unbolting the rubber bolt, so if it does want to move too far it doesn't pull the lever out of the box (PITA, trust me!)

Otherwise it's pretty straight forward - if you have access to a pair of trolley jacks and can get the whole body up in one go it might be easier, I did it one side at a time and had a bit of trouble lining it back up on the way down.

Oh, and 24mm socket will make doing everything up nice and quick.
