I reckon its time I put a set of reduction gears in the Jimny, but can't spend the money on a new set.

So I am looking for a second hand set.

PM me with info please. I am in Brisbane.

I think he wants to keep the feminine push button selector instead of using a MAN's transfercase that works by smashing a stick

Well... yes! Whats so wrong with that?

I like the 'modern' feel, but I would like to get rid to get rid of the stupid 4 second delay.

I should add... 08 model, Manual Gear box, electronic T-case.

Just one hitch with that. All the data on these I have seen reduce high range quite a lot as well, and I am rather happy with it with the current tyres. If I want to reduce it for bigger rubber, I can also add a 20% or 27% H&L ratio kit from trialjimny as well.

There is also differences between MT and AT T-cases, so it might be worthwhile researching that option. I also wonder what options were released in Japan.

I saw a reference to a Japanese brand ZEAL offering a 15% reduction. Might check that out.

Whats a 6.5 and what vehicle?

And what is low range reduction?

And will it fit my electronic Jimny T-case?

Sorry didn't notice you wanted electronic operation.

Mine is a Sierra. The 6.5 gearset I have give about 18% reduction in high range, and 181% (i think) reduction in low range.

This allows it to cruise at good highway speed with larger tyres, and climb walls in low range.

No it won't fit your e-case.
