A friend has a swb vitara, and wants to lift it 2". how bigger rubber will he get under it after doing the lift? He was hoping 30-31". has anyone done this??

you wont really get any bigger tire under with just suspension lift than no lift cause the tires still travel up into the wheel arches the same

but 235 are a pretty easy fit unmodified, providing you dont go too wide in the rim offset, I have -13mm 15x7 and it gave me all kinds of trouble but same tires on stock rims are fine

30's, probably hammer the rear of the front arch and maybe bumpstop spacers in the rear

31's, 2" bodylift

I had 2 inch kings springs (with 15mm spacers in the front) and i fitted 30 in BFG AT's with no need to hammer and body panels at all. and only had a little rubbing at full lock.

3" lift 30" MTR's no rubbing, no mod to guards.

2 inch lift, with some firewall massaging, i got 31s on there.
