Just picked up a new stereo, got these two wires supplying power to the old stereo.





They were both soldered to the one 'power in' on the previous unit. I'm hoping that between them I have a mains and aux power supply. Anyone know, rather than me guessing?

Put a meter on them, see when you get 12V on them as you turn the key...

pretty much the easiest way.. If you leave them both connected to the head unit, you can still use it when the keys come out.

nah thats a pain in the arse
will end up getting a flat battery

get a test light onto them
one should always have power
the other will have power when the car is on
if you dont have one. go buy one =]
they are really handy to have
