How big is your shed???? I have a 14mx9m shed and only have 2 double 4ft flouros hanging from the roof and a single 4ft over the workbench. You need 16 doubles?

It's 15 x 10, I like light or should that be I don't like shadows etc when I'm working. Not afraid of them though.

I had 4 in my old 6 x 6 and that wasn't enough at times, my coverage will only be slightly better then that.

I'll ring the demo yards but they probably won't be open till the new year, not that I'm in a rush

What about a few of these suckers.....

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/400-Watt-Mercury ... 45f7ab3272

400W each... If you could get away with 4 then they'd cost the same to run as 16 Double 48" fluoros.
I used to rent a 12 x 10 shed which only had 2 in it and a single 36" fluoro over the bench...Was plenty of light.

Nope.

They will take 10 minutes to warm up, no good for an average shed or workshop.

JC, just try going to an electrical wholesaler, or ask your sparky. Your sparky will get hem at a better price than you will usually.
Plus if you buy second hand ones, it could cost a bit to get them working properly anyway.

there where a couple for sale on here a couple of weeks ago and I'm just waiting to here back, I might put 2 in one of the bays.

Not sure what these usely go for, hopeing to get them for about $10 a piece, seems about the go on fleabay.

given they won't be on all day every day and the relatively low, in industrial lighting terms, roof the spread of the big ones might not be ideal.
