I have noticed a large number of you use the roof cage.

any reason as to why its so popular?

I ask as I'm in the market for one and there price seems Farley competitive ($299 direct)

how much have people payed for them and have you ordered directly. and how well made do they seem, I'm unable to find a decent review of them.

also a big one is how do they affect the fuel economy of the car they are attached to?

repco used to have them on sale for $200, but someone here posted that repco were no longer stocking ROLA

IMO they are the nicest looking roof baskets around, my racks & basket were free Armsup

Can't really comment on fuel as it's been on there for years, but I do remember it knocking of about 10kph of my top speed which now around 160kph, they're pretty quite but the muddies & exhaust probably hide the wind noise a fair bit.

I got mine from repco on sale for $199 (by memory) and am using it over Rhino racks. With the wind deflector there is virtually no noise and my fuel economy is NO different at all.

I've also got the shovel holder and 2.1 metre awning. The rack itself will hold the box you can see in the photo and still fit a 235/70x16 spare in front of it.

I paid around $230. It looks great on top of my zook and given the weight I throw up there it's been fantastic.

No loss in top end speed and pretty quiet, but I also have muddies and a zorst.

One of the best mods I have done I reckon.

As far as baskets go they look pretty good.

So look to pay around $200-250? that seems reasonable. considering those cheap shit wire ones from Superthiefe cost $199 when there not on special.

what size are you guys running? I noticed 2 sizes available? I'm assuming being a zook it will be the smaller of the to?

No - they come in 2 pieces - front half & back half and they slide together - bigger ones have an extender that fits in between the front and back.

Easier (& cheaper) to store & ship.

correct, if i bought a new one i'd have it welded together as water gets inside of the joins... maybe even a smear of silicone.

I went into repco yesterday. they no longer stock rola products but still have shitloads there trying to sell off cheap but only 2 of the vertex rack in QLD both at Nerang on the gold coast. and he said they are 2 piece. $190.00 delivered to my local repco store. would be cheaper if i got it from Nerang as there 50% of the Rola range. pity I dont have $190 spare atm. . . . . kinda sucks.

Price, looks and the strength compared to the regular wire racks is what sold it for me. At 17kg they are a little heavy, but I havn't really noticed much of a power loss. They're the perfect size for a SWB but still fits comfortably on my LWB.

From what I understand they're all 1 piece.

I got mine for $199, Repco sale.

But like previously mentioned they don't deal with them anymore, at all. I've been told they can't even order them in.

you would be able to get them through a roof rack city store or perhaps Autobarn
