Hey guys, I have a 1991 vitara 1.6 EFI engine, which I thought they were G16B ? And I thought the G16A were the carby models?
Anyways, when I pulled the 1.6 out of the vit yesty to get ready for the rebuild, I noticed it had G16A on the block?
Im really confused now, I done a quick search on google and google images bu didnt really get cleared up on.
Thanks...

No, cause you'll get 8v stuff, this is one reason I prefer eng's that were in an Aus released car, some lil thing's could/will be different.
At a guess the gasket's should be the same as the 16v B eng's here.

defiantly ask for the g16b stuff other wise you will get the wrong gear i have the exact same problem with mine i asked for the g16a and got the wrong gear. the only thing i had trouble with was the dizzy and the rotor button.

Think its more like G13A and BA, there were internal changes, different crank sounds familiar?
remember these engines were legit in swift sedans and even carby so they have been around a bit

Well from my observations the only difference between the later model G16A MPFI motor and the domestic G16B is 1 letter in the engine number designation.
