If it is a mid 80's model ST141 (first of the 'squarer' body shape) it's a 2S. 75kW and the one I had years ago seemed to be reliable (although maybe a bit smokey). I'm pretty sure the exhaust is on the drivers side so it's wrong for a Sierra in that regard. Also the Sierra engine bay is a bit smaller then that of the ST141 Corona - not saying it won't fit just it might pay to measure...

I've got an ST141 as a Paddock basher, there were a few very square models before that, one of which had the 18r. The oil In my Corona hasn't been changed in about 10 years, neither has anything else of course, 240'000 kms all original. Horrible on fuel, gutless as all hell, had about 75kw, feels like 40, throttle response of a 1960s deisel but much the same reliability, exhaust is indeed on the drivers side, so is the inlet.
The 18r can be a good engine, from memory they weigh a ton though. There was heaps of different variations of the 18r, some A LOT better than others, I couldn't tell which ones they would be though.
Good luck, 18rs are generally worth nothing by the way.

What year is the sierra and what years did the motor come out? Older motor in a newer car is a no go.
Is this for a basher?

its a 1994 model sierra.
thanks for the info.
just thought i'd get some opinions on it coz i thought it was cheap, and if it was do able and worth doing. being a 2.0l and all.
just keen for some more power in the sierra.
not a bush basher. daily driven car lol.
probably not worth doing, due to the comments.
cheers
