hey auszookers my clutch cable it real stiff and sounds a bit rought when i put th clutch in so whats the best way to make it nice and smooth cheers luke

not sure what its like on a sierra, but i just removed the cover under neath the jimny that exposes the clutch cable, and sprayed a shit load of wd-40 in it.

crude i know, and im sure there is a better way, but it kinda worked for me

buy a new 1 mate ,there as cheap as chips and take all of 5 minutes to fit. doubt if it would cost $50.

Pull it off. Put it on the cloths line and spray WD40 or something like that down from the top till it comes out other end. Then refit.
Or buy a new one.

WD40 comes off with water, Lanolin or silicon is some what a bit more water resistant. Look along the cable to see if the casing is broken. But yeah, better off replacing it ohterwise you will be doing it again next month.

Comes in a can like wd-40. Perfect for stuff like that.

WD40 is probably not the best lubricant, i found when i used it to lube my throttle cable it became 10x worse!!!
Spray grease or inox...or whatever i can find floating round the workshop

I just pull it off one end and squirt silicone spray down it till it comes out the other end, or WD40 if its Bruces

i use chain lube for motorbikes, its a little more thicker than that of silicon sprays, also seems to stick around longer than anything else i have used.

I can't remember what they did, but a old fitter I know users mr sheen/generic on big roller doors, which would be a major head- if ya use something that attracts shit.

Have a read over your post's, they are hard to understand at the best of times.

WD40 and the like does attract dust and crap and will wash off alot of anything that works as lube in there. Pushbike chain lube works awesomly for this kind of stuff, motorbike lube is a little thick and can get a bit gummed up.

you can get graphite powder in a grease version (ie: powder suspended in lube) - its supposed to be slipperier and stick better.

I had the same problem, I just pulled back the rubber bit that connects onto the gearbox end a grease it as much as I could

This is what I use with motorbike cables, luber from any bike stop and the graphite spray will have it better than new - mind you you'll pay about $30 for those 2 items
