Hey Everyone im new to the website and to 4x4, I just bought a Suzuki vitara and ive had it for over 3 weeks. the other day i tried to drive it over a fallen over tree and i broke my front diff off The Bolts that mount it to the car. Dose anyone know where i could find a new front Diff or know where the best place to buy? and how much would it cost me? Roughly.

Sounds like you may have had an alloy housing. Try to find a steel one, a bit more difficult and expensive to acquire but definately worth it as you will probably never break it. Pretty sure there are some vits being wrecked on here now, have a look in the for sale section. Welcome to AZ also

GV Steel front diff housings can be found on the cheap but are usually expensive as you need buy the complete diff as wreckers don't like pulling them apart to sell just the housing & pinion carrier. Then you need to look at getting your diff gears installed into the GV steel diff, that's if your gears haven't been damamged.
Chop just coughed up for one in SA.... it wasn't cheap, maybe $800???

Post up some pics of what you broke. Ive got a heap of front diff stuff here. mostly alloy stuff. Is it the mount on the diff ctr or the housing mounts you broke? Also what ratio do you need.

I dont Really Know what i broke but ill try explain it. I broken the part of the housing that the Bolt Gose through, the bolts themselfs are still There in the Chasse and the Diff is Flopping around all over the place Ive broken it through all 4 bolt holes so theres nothing really holding it Strong and if you put it in 4WD the movement off the drive sharft just slaps the diff up against the bottom of the engine. Thats the best i can do for you guys. its at the machanic now ill take pics and post them ASAP.
