BenT does a adaptor kit for 200 plus shipping i think check him out in the business forum. im pretty sure from there its a matter of how mechanically minded you are as in how much of the conversion you will do compared to paying a mechanic to do. also this is just what id do would be to rebuild the engine while its out.

He has the 1.6l carb, same as the 1.6l injected, does not need an adaptor.

Is it worth going from the 1.6 carby to efi? For the extra effort, the 2.0ltr sounds like a better option...

2.0L IS the better option. But its alot more work again. G16B will be easiest.

Blocks are different between the carby and efi.. It will work, but i guess those changes were made for a reason. Someone else can probally add more.

Vitara motors are the easy option. Balenos need sump/oil pickup mods, and AFAIK dizzy and thermostat housing mods.

VItara will be the easiest. I've done the conversion in a weekend with a mate, but I usually allow a week nowdays, as I prefer to make new chassis mounts and widen the tranny tunnel and run the motor low with the vit gearbox fitted.
