hey, ive got a h20a vitara and i just swapped the front diff housing for steel, and now im after some 5.12 diff gears, but i realised the diff.centre from.the gv that i got the steel house from are 8/43 which is 5.3 so is there a 5.3 centre i can get for the rear? or do i still need 5.12s for both? i just thought itd be better seeing as id already have the front sorted out. thanks

4.625 gears have an 8/37 tooth count

WTF a 5.3:1 GV steel diff, that's news to me. are you sure it wasn't 10/43?

can you take a pick of the GV steel housing?

so its out of a 4 door 1.6 91model. what does tbi mean? so the 5.3 is pretty rare im.guessing? thanks

recount em, most steel diffs are 10/43

for them to be 8/43 somebody would of had to change them in which case youll find what you need in the rear of the same car

TBI = Throttle Body Injection also know as single point injection. Not multi point injection.

no im not sure its 8/43 i only counted the.crown wheel then searched 43 teeth diff and foind this 5.3 thing i disnt.see anything about 10/43 so i didnt check the pinion. but it looked like the diff had been apart before so it could have got changed.

so you counted 1 gear of 2 to get a ratio, took that number and ran with the nicest result you got back?

once you swap the 5.12's into the GV steel diff, the 4.3:1 R&P can be advertised for sale to recoup some of the $$$'s as the sierra guys use them to regear their diffs.
