quality globes & a head light loom upgrade does alright & it's one less defect for me to worry about.

I'm not a HID hater, my last three road cars have all been HID and I really love it, but what I do hate is HID conversions, especially 6K+ and especially when used in "sculpted" headlight enclosures like those in a vitara (as opposed to 7" round inserts) they seem of blow light all over the shop because of the different location of the filament on a HID globe.

That's the real problem. It's not the amount of light, or the colour, it's that it's often all over the shop.

IMHO use a quality loom upgrade and halogen globe in your headlights and cut sick with HID in your driving lights.

As an aside, I think that HID technology is poorly suited for automotive use, and especially in a H$-adapter application where there is typically a shutter or moving lens to achieve low/high beam. I'm going to wait for LED l7" inserts to become available for the RHD market.

Ah well, enjoy your candle beams

Nah its not about hating HID, HID is friggen awesome technology for the money, I even have 2 HID worklights wired to alligator clips to use for rock climbing at night cause they light the cliff up perfectly

Its its ability to annoy a large amount of the general public in a short period of time, people that otherwise might turn a blind eye to lifts that are too big and panel damage and mud dropping off everywhere.

And the less people we have hating us the less pressure they will all put on the government to crack down on mods.
